MIXON FOR SHERIFF
More Service. Less Politics.
"MY IDEAS ARE SIMPLE BUT PROFOUND, THEY DID NOT COME FROM THE MIND OF A SCHOLAR BUT FROM THE HEART OF A DEPUTY."
Charles A Mixon Jr. (Chuck) has resided in Chesterfield County for 56 years. A native of South Carolina, he is a graduate of Clemson University where he majored in Forest Resource Management. At the age of 38, he realized he wanted to do something more with his life, so he sought a job at Chesterfield County Jail. He became a certified officer at the County Jail and became the first officer in Chesterfield County to earn the prestigious Bert Friday Award. He went on to become a deputy on the road and faithfully served his community for nearly 17 years. During his career he also became the first and only officer in Chesterfield County to be awarded the Medal of Valor for his heroism during a hostage situation involving a child.
He has been married to his wife Tiffany Davis Mixon for 26 years and they have 3 children, Jordan Ashwal, Payton Mixon and Emily Jay Mixon. They attend West Hartsville Baptist Church.
Chuck is running for sheriff because he believes the sheriff should spend more time on the roads and less time behind the desk. He wants to become an advocate not only for the people within the community but for the deputies as well who put their lives on the line each day. He has seen firsthand how allowing politics to have a place where it does not belong can diminish the morale of even the most faithful. He wants to serve the people of Chesterfield County once again with everything he has. He promises that his dedication and morals will not be matched.
